The ban on entry of women in delhi Juma Masjid was lifted

Delhi’s Juma Masjid ban on women entering alone has been lifted. Delhi Lieut. The ban was lifted after discussions with the governor. The imam lifted the ban on single women with a request for visitors to preserve the sanctity of the mosque.

A few days ago, a notice appeared outside the three entry gates of the Delhi Juma Masjid stating that single women were prohibited from entering. Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal sent a notice to the Imam of Delhi Juma Masjid after informing that women coming alone will not be allowed to enter.

NITA Commission chairperson Swati Maliwal said that men and women have the same right to worship and pray and no one has the authority to bar the entry of women. Juma Masjid Public Relations Officer Sabiullah Khan explained that women were not told not to enter, but women cannot come here alone.

He said that such a step was taken to prevent girls from coming here to shoot Tik Tok videos and dance. Sabiullah Khan mentioned that the mosque site has become a meeting place for girls who come to meet boys.
