Abdel Wahed El-Sayed, director of football for the first football team at Zamalek Club, revealed the reason for Mustafa Shalaby, the white player, celebrating his goal against Ghana’s Dreams in the second leg of the African Confederation Cup semi-final.

The Zamalek team clinched its qualification for the Confederation Cup final, after defeating Ghana’s Dreams by three unanswered points in the match that was held between them, Baba Yara Sports Club, in the second leg of the semi-finals of the tournament.

Abdel Wahed said in statements to the Zamalek media center that Mustafa Shalaby was celebrating with Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala,” the team’s captain, and the rest of the technical staff in the stands, and this was documented by cameras and videos during the match.

The football director added, saying: “The celebration did not involve any offense to anyone, and it was spontaneous in light of the difficulty of the match and the confirmation of qualification to the final, especially since the player has a strong relationship with the Zamalek fans.”

It is worth noting that the first leg, which was held in Cairo, ended in a goalless draw, with Al-Abyad qualifying on aggregate with three unanswered points.
