Sherif Hazem, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt for Cyber Security
Sherif Hazem – Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt for Cybersecurity, said that the Central Bank of Egypt will participate as a main sponsor and strategic supporter of the Egypt Summit for Digital Transformation and Cybersecurity (CDIS2024) from May 19 to 21, 2024 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, Hall 3, under the patronage of the Prime Minister.
Sherif said that we notice cyber threats and risks, especially those targeting the banking sector and financial institutions. Therefore, the Central Bank of Egypt places the cyber security file at the top of its priorities and strategic targets, as it is a strategic partner in all national initiatives aimed at enhancing, protecting and securing the national digital transformation process.
Sherif Hazem indicated that the Central Bank aims through this participation to introduce and raise awareness of the strategic efforts and initiatives that the Central Bank has implemented to support digital transformation processes in Egyptian banks and financial institutions, and this begins with the success in helping banks and various financial institutions achieve further strengthening and protection of their infrastructure through the introduction of advanced technologies. For security monitoring that helped enhance detection and proactive monitoring of any cyber threats
Hazem noted that what has been accomplished so far will be clarified in the field of establishing a sustainable methodology aimed at helping to measure the level of readiness of cybersecurity controls and methods, and we will also talk about the Central Bank’s ongoing efforts at the level of building and qualifying human skills capabilities as they are the most important element responsible for managing the technology used.
