[디지털투데이 AI리포터] Companies around the world are introducing business laptops with a variety of features to facilitate efficient work production. Among them, on the 12th (local time), the IT media Tech Radar examined the evolution of Dell Technologies’ representative business laptop series, “Dell Latitude”.

The Dell Latitude series has maintained its position as a consistent seller for 30 years, starting with “Latitude XP” in 1994. Latitude XP is Dell’s first laptop with a 9.5-inch color display and is equipped with 8 MB of RAM . Additionally, it features a 75 MHz Intel DX4 processor and attracted attention for being the first laptop to feature a lithium-ion battery. It weighs 2.68 kg.

In an advertisement at the time, Dell introduced the Latitude XP as “the most tested product in Dell’s history.” PC Computing Monthly magazine touted the product as “the fastest and most durable 486 laptop.”

This model later evolved into the Latitude XPi with an Intel Pentium processor, 40 MB of RAM and 1 MB of memory. The screen size also increased to 10.5 inches, and it became the predecessor of the future Latitude 7350 and Latitude 9450.

Currently, Dell is introducing various series such as Latitude 7490, Latitude 7230 Rugged Extreme and Latitude 9440. In particular, the recent “Dell Latitude 7450 Ultralite” attracted attention as it was equipped with an NPU-based 13th Generation Intel Core Ultra processor with an integrated artificial intelligence (AI) accelerator.
