The first half… Al-Masry leads Pyramids with a goal in the League Cup in the rain

The events of the first half of the Al-Masry and Pyramids match, which brought together the two teams at Burj Al-Arab Stadium in Alexandria, in the quarter-finals of the Egyptian Football Club League Cup, ended with the Al-Masry Club leading with a clean goal, scored by Mido Gaber, the Port Said player, in the 27th minute of the match.

The start of the first half was offensive by the Egyptian club, under rain falling on the match field, and in the sixth minute, Mohamed Al-Shami missed a clear opportunity to score after he was alone with the Pyramids goalkeeper, after receiving a special ball from his colleague Mido Gaber, before Al-Shami shot it outside the net.

Karim Al-Iraqi shone in the ninth minute to keep away a dangerous ball from Ahmed Fathi, the Pyramids player, who sent a cross that almost put Marwan Hamdy alone in Al-Masry’s goal had it not been for Karim Al-Iraqi’s intervention.

In the 23rd minute, Mohamed Al-Shami succeeded in scoring the first goal of the match, before VAR intervened and the Al-Masry striker was ruled offside.

In the 27th minute, Mido Gaber succeeded in scoring the lead goal for Al-Masry, after following a rebound from Ahmed Mihoub, Pyramids goalkeeper, and Gaber shot it into the net.

Walid Al-Karti wasted Pyramids’ most dangerous opportunity in the 32nd minute after a distinctive cross from Mohamed Reda Boubou, as Al-Karti’s header hit the crossbar of Mahmoud Gad, Al-Masry’s goalkeeper.

The referee of the match counted two minutes of stoppage time, before blowing the whistle for the end of the first half in the 47th minute, announcing Al-Masry’s lead with a clean goal over Pyramids.

On the other hand, the Pyramids team qualified for the quarter-finals after scoring 5 points, as it tied in the first round with Pharco, with two goals to the same, then tied with Talaea El Gaish with the same score, before defeating Zed in the last round, with three goals to one.
