“The great Mbappé disappeared against Barcelona and has not done anything for weeks.”

Kylian Mbappe, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, was subjected to great criticism, despite the French team qualifying for the semi-finals of the Champions League, at the expense of Barcelona.

Mbappe did not appear at his usual level in the first leg in the Parc des Princes, which ended (3-2) in favor of the Catalan team, and despite scoring two goals in the second leg in Spain (4-1), his performance did not satisfy the critics.

Former French star Christophe Dugarry said in a statement to “RMC Sport”: “I felt worried about him, and we were far from the great Kylian. We are far from these wonderful performances.”

He added: “His teammates were up to the task, and some of them succeeded in replacing Mbappe (the current regular). I don’t see it making any difference when dribbling the ball. It didn’t make any difference for several weeks.”

Mbappe scored the third goal for Paris Saint-Germain from a penalty kick, before firing the coup de grace with the fourth goal in the 89th minute, completely eliminating the hopes of the Catalan team.

Saint-Germain is preparing to face Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals of the Champions League, noting that the German team overcame Atletico Madrid with a score of (5-4) on aggregate.
