Samer Al-Meshal, President of Al-Ettifaq Club, revealed the fate of Gerard, the coach of the first football team, pointing out that all the contracts were from the club’s budget.
Al-Ettifaq won over Al-Ittihad by five unanswered goals, in the match that brought together the two teams in the eleventh round of the Saudi Professional League Championship.
The president of Al-Ettifaq said in statements to the “Akash with Walid” program: “Al-Ittifaq Club is big. We have a new management and a new coach, and new players gathered during one season. We needed time to prepare the team, and we will compete in the coming seasons.”
When asked about the technical director’s continuation for next season, he said: “Gerard’s contract with Al-Ettifaq until 2027.”
When asked about the club’s budget, he replied: “All contracts are from the club’s budget, and the honorary members did not fall short, in addition to the sponsorships that we brought to the club exceeding 60% of last year.”
He concluded: “We hear a lot and we do not have time to respond to rumours. We are preparing a team that will compete in tournaments.”
