The headlight was not dimmed; The driver of the oncoming lorry left the place with the keys

Puthunagaram (Palakkad): Police have registered a case in a dispute between lorry drivers over non-dimming of headlights. The Puthunagaram police have registered a case against Devin Wilsa (24), a lorry driver from Thodiyoor, Kollam, for obstructing traffic by taking the keys of another lorry.

The lorry drivers had an altercation in front of the Puthunagaram fish market at around 2 am on Monday. A dispute arose between the driver of a lorry transporting goods from Chittoor to Aluva and the driver of an oncoming lorry. As there was another lorry with the lorry to Aluva, its employees also became involved in the dispute and got into an assault.

Meanwhile, the driver of the lorry was heading towards Chittoor when the lorry proceeded to escape. Following this, the employees of the two lorries who came from the opposite direction to chase the lorry which was heading towards Chittoor, returned the vehicle and circled in front of the Puthunagaram station and took the keys. One of the lorries then stopped near the New Theater and another in front of the fish market, leaving the drivers in the autorickshaw.

The lorry, which did not have a key, stopped for about five and a half hours on a narrow lane in front of the police station, causing a traffic jam. Police intervened and brought the technician around 7.30 am and shifted the lorry in front of the station.

The lorry driven by Devin Wilsa was taken into police custody but allowed to unload as it was carrying food items. The Puthunagaram SI said that Rajesh, a native of Alathur, and another person have been named as accused in the case. K. Ajith said.
