As of 00:00 today (31st), the number of new confirmed cases of Corona 19 was 73,589.

There are 73,248 confirmed cases in Korea and 341 people imported from abroad.

Although the number of new confirmed cases has slowed somewhat, the number of severe cases is showing a ‘doubling’ trend, doubling within a week.

The number of seriously ill patients being hospitalized was 284, up from 42 yesterday, the highest number in over two months since May 18.

Compared to a week ago, it is 1.94 times, and compared to two weeks ago, it is 4 times higher.

More than 80% of patients with severe gastritis were in the high-risk group over the age of 60, and in particular, the elderly over 80 years of age accounted for 46% of all patients with severe gastritis.

The bed occupancy rate also increased rapidly, with 28.6% of critically-severe beds, 49.6% of semi-severe beds, and 37.4% of moderate-severe beds.

In particular, the utilization rate of semi-severe beds in the metropolitan area was 52.9%, more than half.

There were 20 deaths.

Starting tomorrow, high-risk groups who are being treated at home will no longer receive phone monitoring from quarantine authorities.
