During a press conference in Washington with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, United States President Joe Biden made a statement suggesting that the proposed economic corridor might have played a role in triggering Hamas’ surprise attack on Israel on October 7. While this connection may seem unrelated at first, Biden highlighted the potential fear of regional integration in West Asia favoring Israel as a possible motive.

Lack of Evidence

It is important to note that President Biden stated that he had no concrete evidence to support this connection between the IMEC project and the Hamas attack.
