Nuevo León is now home to the largest altar of the dead in the world.

Lorena Canavati, president of the Festival, and Susana Reyes, official adjudicator of the association and who would validate the record.

The largest altar in the world measures 1,212 square meters.

The xoloitzcuintle dog, as well as the sweets, water and bread on the altar, were elements that Guinness took into account to give such recognition.

Local, national and international celebrities are at the altar.

At 7:30 p.m. the enormous four-meter-high skull at the end of the great offering began to tell the origins of this festival.

The monumental altar of the dead is located on the Esplanade of the Museum of Mexican History.

Everyone witnessed this moment of great enthusiasm prior to the Day of the Dead.

The largest altar in the world will be up until November 5.
