The library in Burgas shows a copy of Neil Armstrong’s spacesuit, with which he stepped on the moon

Peyo K. Yavorov Regional Library will celebrate its 135th anniversary with the presentation of one of the 15 replicas of Neil Armstrong’s spacesuit, which he used to walk on the moon.

The presentation of this particular exhibit has its own symbolism. The Moonwalk transforms human history as any library transforms human consciousness. The replica costume was designed using a 3D printer. The spacesuit is the only one in Europe and comes to Burgas from Vienna. The interesting exhibit will remain in Burgas until May 10. This will be his last performance in front of an audience outside of Austria. All other Neil Armstrong costume replicas are in the USA and do not export. On July 21, 1969, the American spacecraft “Apollo 11” landed on the moon, after taking off from “Cape Kennedy” in Florida on July 16 with a crew of Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins. Four days later they reach our natural companion. A stainless steel commemorative plaque has been left with an engraved inscription: “Here people from planet Earth first set foot on the moon. July 1969 AD. We come in peace on behalf of all Mankind’ and signed by Armstrong, Aldrin, Collins and US President Nixon. The astronauts returned to Earth four days later to a hero’s welcome.
