A man who fled after a robbery in Idukki Chemmannar was found dead in the yard of a nearby house. Senapati Vattapara native Joseph was found dead yesterday. The post-mortem revealed that Joseph’s death was due to suffocation. The Udumbanchola police informed that the suspect is under police surveillance and will be arrested.
In Chemmannar, Joseph entered the house of Rajendran, an auto driver, to steal. The house was entered by breaking the back door. When Rajendran woke up to a noise while trying to open the cupboard, Joseph ran outside and tried to escape. There was a fight between the two. After biting Rajendran, Joseph escaped. Rajendran thought that the gold was stolen. Joseph, who ran away, was found dead in the yard of another house 100 meters away.
The police had received indications that a robbery had taken place at the place. The police suspect that Rajendran strangled Joseph while arresting him. It is clear in the postmortem report that the cause of death was the neck lacerations that broke and entered the trachea. The interrogation of more people is going on. After examining the forensic report, the police decided to proceed with Rajendran’s arrest. Joseph’s body was handed over to his relatives.
