The Mauritanian president expresses his “concern” about armed conflicts in the Islamic world

President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani expressed his concern about armed conflicts and the spread of the phenomenon of “terrorism” in the Islamic world, noting that these challenges require strengthening the culture of dialogue and tolerance among the countries of the Islamic world.

This came in a speech by Ould Ghazouani, today, Saturday, at the opening of the Islamic Cooperation Summit in the Gambian capital, Banjul.

The Mauritanian President said that resolving conflicts and differences between Islamic countries must be through dialogue and negotiation, while preserving the national and territorial sovereignty of each country.

Ould Ghazouani stressed the importance of achieving development and sustainable development in the Islamic world.

The President considered that “terrorism causes destruction and sabotage in the Islamic world, especially in the African continent,” stressing that it is necessary to spread the culture of dialogue, tolerance and openness, and to strengthen the values ​​of the Islamic religion, which carries the values ​​of peace, love and brotherhood.

Ould Ghazouani called for “intensifying economic cooperation between Islamic countries, through exchanging experiences and developing intra-trade, stressing that this is the best way to achieve progress and prosperity in the Islamic world.”
