(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Shinseon-mi Kim Seo-young = The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 8th that it would start the procedure for revoking a doctor’s license in relation to Pusan National University’s cancellation of admission to the medical school (medical school) of Min Jo, the daughter of former Justice Minister Cho Kuk.

An official from the Ministry of Health and Welfare explained to Yonhap News on the same day, “The Ministry of Education received a notice of cancellation of admission, so we are proceeding with the license revocation procedure.”

On the evening of the 7th, the Ministry of Health and Welfare received an official notice from the Ministry of Education of the cancellation of Jo Min’s admission to Pusan National University.

In accordance with the procedures under the Administrative Procedure Act, prior notice of the disposition of license revocation is carried out, and the opinions of the parties are heard through the hearing process. It usually takes 1-3 months for the final cancellation disposition to be issued.

Pusan National University held a faculty meeting on the 5th and decided to cancel Cho’s admission to the medical school.

Pusan National University presented the university’s school regulations, the admission guidelines for new medical students at the time in 2015, and the Basic Administrative Law as the basis for the decision to cancel admission.

Cho filed an application for suspension of execution to the court to stop the effect of the decision to cancel Pusan National University’s admissions, but it is known that the Ministry of Health and Welfare is planning to proceed with the license revocation procedure regardless of this.

If admission to the medical school is invalidated, the license can be revoked by the Ministry of Health and Welfare because the requirements for obtaining a doctor’s license are not met.
