Max Holloway defeated Justin Gaethje in the ‘BMF’ title match that determines the best ‘real man’ in the UFC. He moved up one weight class from the featherweight division, where he is mainly active, to the lightweight division and announced his victory. After a fight that exceeded expectations, he achieved a stunning KO victory.

Holloway had a ‘BMF’ lightweight title match with Gaethje at UFC 300 held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on the 14th (Korean time). He led the game as if mocking the predictions of most experts that he would be inferior. He showed off the power of the former featherweight champion by overwhelming Gaethje, who was ranked second in the lightweight class one weight higher.

From the beginning of the game, there was no backing down. He engaged in a head-to-head striking battle and succeeded in taking the lead by landing a surprise back kick. He made the tough Gae Che take a step back and made the UFC Octagon crowd cheer. He gained the upper hand in the punch battle and landed several back kicks, accumulating points one by one.

We were clearly ahead of rounds 1, 2, and 3. However, in the 4th round, he lost his balance after being punched by Gaethje. He was lightly knocked down but did not collapse. With amazing tenacity and mental strength, he persevered and escaped the crisis. Instead, he continued to pressure Gaeichi, who was even more tired, and did not give up the initiative.

In the last 5 rounds, the ‘best ever’ match ended with victory. He regained the momentum he lost in the fourth round with a back kick and a punch rush. And with 10 seconds remaining, he occupied the center of the Octagon and proposed a ‘no guard strike’ to Gaethje. Gaethje came to the center and engaged in a fierce battle, and with one second left in the game, a heavy punch landed on Gaethje’s face, resulting in a stunning KO victory.

UFC President Dana White was right. Chairman White said in an interview with the media ahead of UFC 300, “Holloway is a fighter who always entertains the fans,” and added, “By fighting Gaethje this time, he will be reborn as the best UFC featherweight fighter of all time.” Holloway achieved a surprising victory, as Chairman White expected, and became the real star of UFC 300.

Another exciting match is being evaluated as “Holloway did Holloway.” With this win, Holloway is expected to further increase his stock and jump into the UFC featherweight championship ranks. It has become very likely that he will face the winner of a rematch between champion Iliato Puria and former champion Alexander Volkanovski for a title fight.
