The North is about to experience thunderstorms to cool down

Intense heat remained in the North until April 30, then weak cold air caused thunderstorms to appear, cooling the area. Meanwhile, the Central Highlands and the South maintain high temperatures until the end of the week.

On April 29, provinces and cities across the country entered the third day of a widespread severe heat wave. Dong Ha (Quang Tri) continues to be the place that recorded the highest temperature of the day with 42.4 degrees Celsius at 1pm, while many places such as Son La, Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An fluctuated between 39-42 poison.

The National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting said that on April 30, particularly intense heat continued in the Northwest region and from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen with the highest temperature of 39-42 degrees Celsius, with places above 42 degrees Celsius. Humidity is very low, only about 30-40%.

At the same time, other places in the North maintain hot and intense heat with temperatures of 36-39 degrees Celsius, with some places above 39 degrees Celsius.

Most likely, from the evening and night of April 30, the North and Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces will experience cooling thunderstorms due to the influence of a weak cold air wave combined with converging winds at high altitudes. From May 1, the heat will decrease in the above areas.

The meteorological agency warned that because the rain appeared right after a long period of intense heat, people should be wary of the very high risk of thunderstorms, lightning, hail and strong winds.

On May 1, the heat is still concentrated in provinces from Ha Tinh to Phu Yen with temperatures still high at 38-41 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the Central Highlands and the South have prolonged hot weather above 35 degrees. C to around May 4-5.
