When The Rascalz – Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, and Myron Reed – debuted in All Elite Wrestling in January, a familiar sound accompanied their entrance. The trio walked to the ring with the same entrance theme they’d used during their time in TNA Wrestling, immediately prompting questions about how AEW secured the rights to the music.

The answer, it turns out, wasn’t a direct purchase from TNA. According to a report from Fightful Select, AEW already had access to the track through existing music licensing agreements. This meant The Rascalz were able to seamlessly carry over their presentation without any additional cost or negotiation between the two promotions.

The use of pre-existing licensed music is a common practice throughout professional wrestling, allowing talent to maintain recognizable themes when transitioning between companies that share similar licensing arrangements. It’s a practical approach that avoids complex rights negotiations and significant expenses.

Since arriving in AEW, The Rascalz have quickly established themselves as contenders in the tag team division. A recent victory on an episode of AEW Collision underscored their potential. The group scored a significant win over FTR, the team of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, in a match that saw interference from The Young Bucks. This victory has positioned them as strong candidates for an AEW World Tag Team Championship opportunity.

However, the path to a title shot remains contingent on the outcome of the ongoing rivalry between FTR and The Young Bucks, a feud set to continue at AEW Revolution. The Rascalz are currently awaiting clarity in that situation before their championship aspirations can fully materialize.

A Brief AEW Stint for Trey Miguel

Initially, Trey Miguel was also part of the group’s move to All Elite Wrestling, signing alongside Xavier, Wentz, and Reed when they departed TNA ahead of its move to AMC. However, Miguel’s time with AEW was short-lived. He was released shortly after signing.

The decision to release Miguel reportedly stemmed from concerns raised within Warner Bros. Discovery, not from AEW management itself. These concerns centered around past social media posts, leading to Miguel’s departure before he could even appear on AEW television.

Following his release, Miguel briefly stepped away from professional wrestling before ultimately returning to TNA. He quickly regained momentum as a singles competitor, capturing the TNA International Championship on February 13, 2026, at the No Surrender event in Nashville, Tennessee, defeating Channing Stacks Lorenzo.

While Miguel’s AEW run was cut short, The Rascalz – Xavier, Wentz, and Reed – continue to make their mark in AEW’s tag team division. They now stand as leading contenders, poised to capitalize on the outcome of the FTR versus The Young Bucks rivalry and pursue their championship goals.

The situation highlights the complexities of talent movement in professional wrestling, where presentation and branding are crucial. The Rascalz’s ability to retain their established entrance music demonstrates a pragmatic approach by AEW, recognizing the value of maintaining continuity for both the performers and the fans. It also underscores the importance of music licensing in the modern wrestling landscape, where access to extensive music libraries can streamline talent presentation and avoid costly negotiations.

The Rascalz’s success in AEW thus far suggests that their established identity, coupled with their in-ring abilities, is resonating with the AEW audience. As they await their opportunity for a tag team title shot, they represent a compelling addition to a rapidly evolving and competitive division.
