The school for young fishermen will gather more than 30 participants

SOKOLAC – A free fishing school for children aged 10 to 15, which will begin in Sokolac on Monday, September 11, will gather more than 30 participants.

A free fishing school is organized by the Association of Sports Anglers “Bioštica” in Sokol as part of the project “Discovering the magic of fishing – young anglers”, worth 18,000 KM, said Srna Dragan Nešković, the coordinator of this project.

Nešković emphasized that the school will last six months, that the theoretical part of the teaching will be organized through workshops, while the practical part will take place mainly on the Bioštica river in Kruševci.

He said that as part of the project, a competition in the making of lures is planned for the participants of the fishing school.

Nešković pointed out that the goal of the project is the development of sports and recreational fishing and raising awareness of nature conservation among young people.

The project is implemented by the Association of Sports Anglers “Bioštica” from Sokolac with the support of the Tourist Organization “Sokolac”.

This association has 87 active members, and they see their future, as they say, in the youth who will come with the fishing school.

The project “Discovering the magic of fishing – young fishermen” is financed by the EU, implemented by UNDP, and supported by the city of East Sarajevo.
