On the 13th of this month, the Seoul Metropolitan Government issued a ban notice to the ‘202nd National Workers’ Congress to Inherit the Spirit of Jeon Tae-il’ of the National Federation of Trade Unions (KCTU), which is expected to be held in downtown Seoul on the 13th.

According to the Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) and the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 2nd, the city notified that the Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) would ban gatherings of about 10,000 people in downtown Seoul on the 13th.

The Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) held a rally in four areas in downtown Seoul, and 499 people who had completed the vaccination, formed a group of 70 meters apart, and set up a rally plan to march on Sejong-daero, etc.

Although the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the police reported the assembly according to the limited number of people, it was considered a single assembly of 10,000 people in the same place and judged that it was a violation of the Infectious Disease Prevention Act.

An official from the Seoul Metropolitan Government explained, “The reason for the restriction of the number of people is to prevent the risk of quarantine caused when many people gather and disperse in one place.”

In accordance with the government’s step-by-step recovery policy, the Seoul Metropolitan Government allows up to 499 people to gather only those who have completed vaccinations. If there are unvaccinated people, fewer than 100 (99) are allowed.

An official from the KCTU said, “Even though the assembly can be held safely, there is a problem in preventing it.” “We plan to report the assembly to the police again.”

The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to notify the ban again if the current assembly restrictions are not followed.
