The World Karate Championship will be held in Dubai next month

The World Karate Championship will be held in Dubai next month. The competition will start on November 16, Dubai Sports Council officials said at a press conference.

The championship, which will feature more than 1,800 karate players from around the world, will be held from November 16 to 21 at the Hamdan Sports Complex. The partnership will host the largest World Karate Championship in history, said Saeed Herb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, and Maj. Gen. Nasser Al Razouki, President of the Asian-UAE Karate Federation and Vice President of the World Karate Federation.

The 2013 Asian Karate Championship was held at the Hamdan Sports Complex. The multi-sports indoor complex, which can seat 15,000 people, will accommodate spectators, Sports Council officials said.
