The Yarn Garden in Charlotte, Michigan, is celebrating 19 years of fostering fiber-art creativity through its in-house dyed Gnome River Yarns, tools, inspiration, and hands-on support for knitters and crocheters.
Lindsay Potter, the head gardener at the store, said she loves knitting because it allows her to express creativity while making something functional, like the sock she is currently working on.
The Yarn Garden has grown from a small shop into a bustling storefront with an online business that ships daily. One of its biggest standouts is the Gnome River Yarns line, inspired by the natural world and a touch of magic.
Inside the shop, visitors find yarn of every kind, plus needles, hooks, samples, and plenty of hands-on encouragement. Lindsay Potter emphasized that touching and feeling the yarn often sparks new ideas for crafters.
The creativity extends beyond the shop with upcoming events such as Local Yarn Store Day on Saturday, April 25, and the Spring Makers Fest on May 16 at the Eaton County Fairgrounds, which will feature around 40 vendors and an aquatic coral reef theme.
