In the ten months of 2022, goods worth 24.1 billion KM were imported into Bosnia and Herzegovina, while in the same period this year it amounted to 23.5 billion KM, which is a drop of 2.3 percent.

When it comes to exports, the situation is even worse because in ten months of this year, compared to last year, exports fell by 6.1 percent or by as much as 939.1 million KM. In the first ten months of 2022, exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to 15.4 billion KM, while in the first ten months of this year it was 14.4 billion KM, they write “Independent“.

The business community in Bosnia and Herzegovina previously pointed out that the decrease in exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina is due to the situation in the European Union and the fact that the economies of some EU countries such as Germany are slowing down, and that it is to be expected that such a situation will continue in the next year.

Employers from Republika Srpska have recently pointed out that in the case of an increase in the minimum wage of KM 1,050, individuals will lose their competitiveness, and the direct consequence of this will be a further decline in exports to EU countries and the region.
