Three students from Horizon Christian Academy were killed on Monday, April 7, 2026, in a fiery vehicle crash in Franklin County, Florida, while traveling on spring break. A fourth student survived the accident and remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Authorities have identified the deceased students as 18-year-old Jackson Mobley of Cumming, 17-year-old Jaylyn Fehr of Cumming, and 16-year-old Charlotte Martin of Cumming. The students were traveling to St. George Island to visit friends and family at the time of the incident.

The crash occurred on Highway 65, also identified as State Road 65, just south of Brickyard Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the students were traveling in a Jeep that left the roadway and collided with a tree, after which the vehicle caught fire.

Rescue and Recovery Efforts

A 17-year-old student from Alpharetta, identified as Jamison Mobley, survived the initial crash. Witnesses and Good Samaritans stopped at the scene and were able to remove her from the front right passenger seat before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.

Jamison Mobley was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. As of Wednesday, April 9, 2026, she remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The driver and the other two passengers were unable to exit the vehicle and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Official Statements and Community Response

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office released a statement and a video message on Wednesday expressing condolences to the families. The office described the victims as talented athletes, exceptional students, and, above all, kind-hearted individuals whose lives touched many.

The sheriff noted that while the cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed, it appears the vehicle entered the other lane before hitting the tree. Authorities have not released information regarding the speed of the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Horizon Christian Academy, a private institution in Cumming, confirmed that all four individuals were students at the school. The academy described the students as amazing, kind, smart, and loved.

The school opened its chapel on Monday to provide a space for students and families to gather. In a social media post, the school requested prayers for the grieving families and for the student currently recovering in the hospital.

We pray that God’s presence would be deeply felt by these grieving families, and that His presence would bring comfort, peace, and hope even in the midst of unimaginable loss
