TikTok is bolstering its direct messaging (DM)‍ capabilities to better ⁢compete with other social platforms, including Spotify, which recently introduced its own DM feature. The platform is⁢ rolling out voice message and image sharing functionality to all users over the coming weeks, according to a report by TechCrunch.

New Features in⁢ Detail

Users can now send‍ both voice messages and images⁣ within TikTok DMs. Video sharing, up to a duration of one minute, ⁢was already available, ⁤but the addition of voice notes and images‍ provides more versatile communication ⁣options.

Important Note: ‍ When recording a voice message,‍ releasing the microphone button automatically sends the recording. Users should drag the recording up or to the left ⁣to ⁣cancel before sending.

The platform limits image and video attachments to a maximum of nine per message. Both voice memos and videos are capped at one minute in length.
