TikTok is bolstering its direct messaging (DM) capabilities to better compete with other social platforms, including Spotify, which recently introduced its own DM feature. The platform is rolling out voice message and image sharing functionality to all users over the coming weeks, according to a report by TechCrunch.
New Features in Detail
Users can now send both voice messages and images within TikTok DMs. Video sharing, up to a duration of one minute, was already available, but the addition of voice notes and images provides more versatile communication options.
The platform limits image and video attachments to a maximum of nine per message. Both voice memos and videos are capped at one minute in length.
