Togo: Faure Gnassingbé’s “warm congratulations” to the new elected president of Senegal

The Togolese head of state Faure Gnassingbé sent this Thursday his “warm congratulations” to Bassirou Diomaye Faye, the new elected president of Senegal.

The Togolese president wishes him “great success and complete success” in the exercise of the high functions that the brotherly people of Senegal have just entrusted to him.

“I express on this occasion the hope that our two countries continue to work together to strengthen their ties of friendship and cooperation in order to further consolidate integration in our West African community for the happiness of our peoples,” adds Faure Gnassingbé.

Bassirou Diomaye Faye won the presidential election in the first round with 54.28% of the votes against 35.79% for the government candidate Amadou Ba (35.79%), indicate the provisional final results announced on Wednesday. FIN
