Following weekend ”No Kings” protests, a benefit show supporting immigrant rights is set for tonight in Los Angeles’ echo Park neighborhood. The “No Kings” protests,addressing immigration policy,saw 38 arrests in Los Angeles,mainly for curfew violations.
Tom morello, guitarist for Rage Against the Machine and a longtime advocate for human rights, will headline the sold-out “Defend L.A.” show at the Echoplex. The concert supports the Coalition for Humane Immigrant rights (CHIRLA).
B-Real of Cypress Hill, Pussy Riot, K.Flay, and visual artist Shepard Fairey are also scheduled to perform. The Neighborhood Kids, a San diego hip-hop group, will play their most prominent Los Angeles set. Comedian George Lopez will host the event.
