The Best Play category includes Pulitzer Prize winners Purpose and English, alongside Oh, Mary!. The competition for Best Actress in a Musical is fierce, featuring Audra McDonald (Gypsy), Nicole Scherzinger (sunset Blvd.), and jasmine Amy Rogers (Boop).
Cynthia Erivo,a Tony Award winner,will host the ceremony. Known for her performance in the Color purple, Erivo’s rendition of “I’m Here” at the 2016 Tony Awards remains memorable. She will take on the role of master of ceremonies before the release of her two Wicked films.
