Valencia: Top City for Expats in 2024
Valencia ranks as the best city for expats in 2024. After placing third in 2023, it returns to the top position. It also leads in Quality of Life and Personal Finance indices.
Expats in Valencia rate public transportation, recreational sports opportunities, and personal safety very positively. Around 75% of respondents are satisfied with the cost of living and their financial situation. However, the job market is less favorable, ranking 31st for Working Abroad.
Spanish Cities Lead the Rankings
Málaga is the second-best city for expats. It had the top spot in 2023 but slipped back to second in 2024. Expats feel connected and happy in Málaga, enjoying high ratings for social life and feeling welcomed.
Alicante ranks third for expats. It stands out in the Expat Essentials Index, especially for housing affordability. Over two-thirds of respondents report positive views on housing costs. However, its Working Abroad ranking is lower, indicating some challenges in job prospects.
Madrid places seventh overall. It offers a strong quality of life and good settling-in experience. Yet, it has a lower score in the Expat Essentials Index, ranking 28th.
