CAMBRIDGE, Ontario and SALEM, Ore. – – Agility Robotics, the creator of the humanoid robot Digit, has announced a commercial agreement with Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) to deploy the robots in its facilities. The move follows a successful year-long pilot program and signals a growing trend of automation within the automotive manufacturing sector.
Under the agreement, TMMC plans to integrate Digit into its manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics operations. The initial deployment will involve seven additional robots joining the three already tested during the pilot phase, tasked with loading and unloading totes from automated tuggers. The companies will also collaborate to identify further applications for robotics and artificial intelligence to support employees and enhance production processes.

TMMC’s Cambridge and Woodstock, Ontario plants, which assembled over 535,000 vehicles in , employ over 8,500 people.
