Kozhikode: Tragedy struck when a tourist van lost control and plunged down a hill in Vadakara, resulting in the unfortunate death of a woman. The victim, identified as Salia (60) from Kottayam, lost her life in the accident, while 12 others sustained injuries.
The incident took place near the Madapally College stop on Tuesday morning. The group was en route from Pala to the funeral home in Vellarikund, Kasaragod when the calamity struck.
Thankfully, the fire brigade swiftly arrived at the scene and successfully rescued the occupants of the ill-fated vehicle. The injured individuals were promptly transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention. While three of them are currently receiving treatment at Kozhikode Medical College, one remains in critical condition. The remaining victims were admitted to a private hospital in Vadakara.
