The incident happened yesterday morning around 10:00 in TOKİ region in Balışeyh district. According to the information obtained, an armed attack was carried out on the Mayor of Şen by Erdem Şen, his uncle’s son, with whom he had enmity, while he was driving in his official vehicle to inspect the work done in the area. Mayor Şen, who was in the vehicle with his office driver Mikayil Çelikkol (40), Ömer Şengül (42) and Koray Kaya (45), was seriously injured in the attack.
Şen and his driver Çelikkol died at Yüksek İhtisas Hospital where they were taken. The treatment of the other 2 injured persons continues at the Medical Faculty Hospital. The attacker was detained by police teams in front of the town hall after the incident. The funeral of Hilmi Şen (50), who is married and the father of two children, will be sent off on its last journey with a ceremony to be held at the Central Mosque in the Balışeyh district.
