Trip-hop pioneer Tricky has announced his new album ‘Different When It’s Silent’, marking his first full solo release under his own name in six years since 2020’s ‘Fall To Pieces’. The album is set for release on July 17, 2026 via his label False Idols and arrives alongside the paranoid lead single ‘Out Of Place’, featuring longtime collaborator Marta Złakowska.
The track ‘Out Of Place’ delves into the nocturnal, paranoid energy that has defined much of Tricky’s career, combining frenetic drum patterns and mournful strings with Złakowska’s eerie vocals. Originally written for Złakowska’s own project, the song was reclaimed by Tricky for this album, which he describes as a direct and focused return to the sonic language established with his 1995 debut ‘Maxinquaye’.
Tracklist and Musical Direction
The album’s tracklist includes: ‘Still See Me There’, ‘I’m Yours’, ‘Be Still In Your Pain’, ‘I Tried’, ‘So Cold’, ‘Paris Maybe’, ‘Cannon Fodder’, ‘Because I Don’t Know’, ‘Marinade’, ‘Radana’, ‘Piano’, ‘Frontier Town’, ‘Hengrove Blues’, and the lead single ‘Out Of Place’. This collection follows a period of collaborative and side-project work, including ‘Lonely Guest’, ‘Fifteen Days’ with producer Mike Theis under Theis Thaws, and the joint release ‘Out The Way’ with Złakowska.

Tour Dates and Live Performances
In support of the album, Tricky has announced an extensive UK and European tour beginning May 10, 2026 at Nottingham’s The Palais. The trek continues through dates in Dublin, London, Manchester, and Bristol before moving across continental Europe, with performances scheduled in cities including Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Prague, Warsaw, Budapest, Bucharest, Sofia, Zagreb, Zurich, Bern, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Cologne, Malmö, Uppsala, Gothenburg, Milan, and concluding with festival appearances at Portugal’s Mimo Festival, Italy’s Triennale, the UK’s Green Man Festival, and Bristol’s Forwards Festival through August and September.
Tickets for the tour are available through official channels, with the artist returning to live performance after a period focused on studio collaborations and side ventures. The album and tour represent Tricky’s most sustained solo effort in recent years, reaffirming his ongoing influence in electronic and trip-hop music.
