Truck Fire on Gempol Toll Road Allegedly Involved Ammunition
PANDAAN, East Java – A truck fire accompanied by explosions on the Gempol Toll Road near Pandaan, East Java, Monday night, reportedly involved ammunition, according to initial reports.
According to Radio Suara Surabaya,
the truck was confirmed to be carrying ammunition. Authorities have closed access to the affected area of the toll road as of Monday night.
Traffic Diversions in Effect
Police are diverting traffic to manage the situation. Vehicles traveling from Surabaya toward Malang or Probolinggo are being directed to exit at Sidoarjo or Porong. Traffic heading to Surabaya from Malang is being diverted off the toll road at the Pandaan exit. Vehicles coming from pasuruan are being routed off the toll road at the Bangil exit.
AKP Derie Fradesca, Kasatlantas (Head of Traffic Police) of the Pasuruan regional Police, advised motorists heading to Malang and Probolinggo to exit at the Sidoarjo or Porong toll gates and continue their journey on surface streets. Those traveling toward Surabaya can exit at the Pandaan Toll and use alternative routes.

reported that the truck fire was accompanied by explosions. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
