In a significant milestone, Truecaller has rolled out its most comprehensive update for iOS users, bringing real-time caller ID and automated spam call blocking to the platform for the first time. This global launch is set to expand Truecaller’s reach and bolster its subscription revenues.

Truecaller’s CEO, Rishit Jhunjhunwala, expressed pride in this achievement, "After 15 years, we’re thrilled to offer iOS users the same leading Caller-ID and spam blocking experience we’ve perfected on Android. This launch substantially increases our addressable market, reaching new user segments and geographies with higher iOS penetration."

The COO, Fredrik Kjell, echoed the excitement, "This update accelerates our subscription growth and puts us on track to surpass 1 billion SEK in recurring revenues. We’re offering a free trial, but the service will then be available exclusively to paying subscribers. With iOS users already converting at over five times the rate of Android users, we see substantial growth potential."

Currently, iOS users make up about 7% of Truecaller’s 435 million monthly active users (MAUs), with over 40% of premium revenues coming from iOS. The new update leverages Truecaller’s AI capabilities and global database to identify calls in real-time, a feat made possible by Apple’s Live Caller ID Lookup framework. This API uses advanced homomorphic encryption, with Truecaller being the first to deploy it at scale for Caller ID.

Additionally, Truecaller iOS users have long-awaited automatic spam call blocking, which is now available globally. The update also introduces a Premium Family plan, allowing up to five members to share Truecaller’s premium benefits, including the AI Assistant, at a discounted rate. In India, the plan also includes fraud insurance for all members.

Existing pricing for Truecaller Premium subscribers remains unchanged, with free users retaining ad-supported manual number search and caller ID for verified businesses. The new Caller ID feature will roll out globally over the coming days.

To enable Truecaller on iOS 18.2, users should update to the latest version and follow these steps:

1. Open iPhone Settings > Apps > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification.
2. Enable all Truecaller switches and reopen the app.
