Former President Donald Trump has indicated potential progress in discussions with Iran concerning its nuclear program. Trump suggested an announcement might come within the next two days,hinting at positive developments regarding the Iran nuclear program.
Speaking in northern New Jersey, Trump said, “We’ve had some very, very good talks with Iran… I have a feeling I might be telling you somthing good.” He added that there had been “real progress, serious progress” in the discussions.
The latest round of Oman-mediated talks, the fifth such meeting, took place in Rome. steve Witkoff, Trump’s Mideast envoy, and Michael Anton, the State Department’s policy planning director, represented the U.S. The talks,which began in April,mark the highest-level contact between the two countries since the U.S. withdrew from the 2015 nuclear accord during Trump’s first term.
