The Trump administration successfully conducted strikes against three Iranian nuclear facilities Saturday evening, following what appeared to be a deliberate campaign of misdirection. Details of the operation were announced by former President Trump in a Truth Social post, followed by a formal address to the nation.
Karoline leavitt, White House press secretary, alluded to the deception, noting that misleading information had been circulated to suggest a delayed decision. she told Fox News’ Bret Baier that there were “sort of misleading tidbits put out there to suggest that maybe president Trump had put off the decision and that this would happen two weeks from now.”
Fox News correspondent Jennifer Griffin added that a notice from whiteman Air Force Base, indicating closure for repairs until June 23, might have been an earlier clue about the operation’s timing. The B-2s would have returned to Whiteman by the time the notice was lifted.
