Trump Dismisses Musk Feud Amid Tax Bill Spat: “Man Who Has lost His Mind?”
Updated June 6, 2025
President Donald Trump appeared unconcerned Friday about his public dispute with Elon Musk, a day after their heated exchange. Asked about a potential call with Musk, Trump questioned his mental state.
Trump said Musk wants to talk, but he is not interested right now. The feud began after Musk criticized Trump’s tax and immigration bill, even suggesting trump would have lost the 2024 election without his support. Musk also accused Trump of being implicated in the Epstein files.
Trump, in turn, said Musk had gone “CRAZY” and suggested ending government contracts and subsidies for Musk’s companies. Despite the heated words, sources close to Trump described him as more saddened than angered by the situation.
Trump is reportedly considering selling or giving away the red Tesla he bought to support Musk. He had previously showcased Tesla models at the White House in March.
Vice President JD Vance defended Trump amid the dispute. He posted on social media that Trump has earned the trust of his movement and that he is proud to stand beside him.
Vance also criticized the media, saying, “There are many lies the corporate media tells about president Trump. One of the most glaring is that he’s impulsive or short-tempered.”
