Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Resignation & Trump’s Reaction

Marjorie Taylor Greene is resigning ⁤from Congress in January, ‍following a fallout ⁣with Donald Trump after the government shutdown. She stated her decision was due⁤ to ‍a lack of reciprocal loyalty and a ⁢desire to represent her district’s interests without foreign influence. She felt Trump’s previous attacks and potential support for a primary opponent were disrespectful.

Trump, while noting Greene didn’t inform him of her statement beforehand, said he was “unbothered” and thought it was “great” that she was happy. He doesn’t plan to speak with her directly but wishes her well. He had previously rescinded his endorsement of Greene, calling her a ⁣”ranting lunatic.”
