Trump Claims Harris Presidency Would Mean the End of Israel

Former President Donald Trump made the claim at a Republican Jewish event, while Harris’ side refutes, saying she has supported Israel her entire life.

Former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, claimed that if Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, becomes president, “Israel will no longer exist.” This statement was made during an online speech at the annual Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) event held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

According to the Washington Post and the British daily Guardian, Trump stated, “I don’t understand how you can support them.” He then said that if Vice President Harris becomes president, “you will be abandoned,” and that “if she becomes president, you will not have Israel.”

Trump also claimed that if he had been president, the war in Gaza would never have started. He expressed his support for Israel, saying, “I will support Israel’s right to win. This is a war on terror, and we will win quickly. You have to win, and you have to win quickly.”

Regarding the protests against the Gaza war on American college campuses, Trump said that if he becomes president again, “universities will stop spreading anti-Semitic propaganda and they have to do it,” or “they will lose their accreditation and federal support.”

Trump’s remarks appeared to target Vice President Harris’s stance on Israel, which has been perceived as firmer compared to President Joe Biden. In the past, Vice President Harris has expressed support for Israel’s right to self-defense, but has also called for more direct responsibility for Israel’s humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Vice President Kamala Harris, Democratic presidential candidate

In response to Trump’s claims, the Harris camp stated that Vice President Harris has supported the state of Israel throughout her life as a safe and democratic homeland for the Jewish people. They also pointed out that Trump’s stance on Israel is inconsistent, saying, “If it benefits him, he will change his attitude in an instant and attack Israel.”
