Trump’s Plan to Tolerate North Korea’s Nuclear Weapons and Ease Sanctions Sparks Controversy

Trump Considers ‘Compromise’ with North Korea on Nuclear Weapons and Sanctions Relief

Reports suggest former US President Donald Trump is planning to propose a ‘compromise’ on freezing North Korea’s nuclear program and easing sanctions against the country if he returns to power.

According to Politico, an American political media outlet, three anonymous sources indicated that the plan involves allowing North Korea to keep its existing nuclear weapons while providing financial incentives to prevent the production of new ones.

However, this proposal deviates from the long-standing policy of South Korea and the United States, which has been centered around the complete denuclearization of North Korea. The Trump camp has denied these reports.

Furthermore, Politico interpreted the plan as a shift in focus from nuclear negotiations with North Korea to competition with China.

There are reports that former US President Donald Trump is planning a ‘compromise’ for freezing North Korea’s nuclear program and easing sanctions against North Korea when he returns to power.

Politico, an American political media outlet, reported this on the 13th local time, citing three anonymous sources, and explained, “The plan is to ensure that North Korea has nuclear weapons, but to provide financial incentives to prevent the manufacture of new nuclear weapons. .”

At the same time, Politico interpreted it as “let’s not waste time on nuclear negotiations and focus on competition with China.”

This is a departure from the long-standing policy of South Korea and the United States towards North Korea, which is based on complete denuclearization, and the Trump camp denied the report.
