During Duran’s visit to Algiers, discussions encompassed political and regional issues of mutual interest. Duran met with Algerian ⁤Foreign Ministry Secretary General Lounes Magramane ⁣and was received by Algerian Foreign minister Ahmad ​Attaf. The meetings centered on identifying additional steps to enhance regional cooperation and strengthen bilateral ties‌ between the two Mediterranean nations.

Talks also addressed developments ‍in the⁣ Sahel region, as well as ⁣strategies to​ expand bilateral trade, with the goal ⁢of⁣ reaching a trade volume of⁢ $10 billion.Cooperation in the defense industry and energy fields was also on the agenda, along with updates on ongoing agreements.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry emphasized that relations between ⁣Turkey and Algeria ⁣are steadily improving, driven by the ‌commitment of both countries’ presidents and high-level engagements. Turkey and Algeria share‍ historical and cultural connections, formalized in the Friendship and Cooperation Agreement signed in 2006.Algeria is a key trade partner for turkey in Africa and⁢ plays a⁤ significant role in diversifying Turkey’s energy import sources.‍ Approximately 1,400 Turkish⁢ companies are registered in Algeria, including 60 contracting‍ companies.
