Stefan Andres Correa,⁣ a‍ 42-year-old⁤ pharmacist from Florida,⁢ will spend the remainder ⁢of⁢ his life in prison after being convicted of sex trafficking and raping numerous young girls, some as young as 10 years old, during repeated trips to Colombia, federal prosecutors announced.

Correa’s life sentence was handed ⁤down Friday after authorities discovered more than 100 disturbing videos on nine cell phones, ⁤depicting⁣ him sexually abusing over 50 children, according to the‍ U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern‍ district of Florida.

Prosecutors stated that correa ⁣preyed ⁤on ‍girls ‍between the ages of 10 and 17.

“This‍ prosecution and this sentence should serve as a warning to ‍any predator who is trying to travel through our ⁣District to prey on children,” U.S. Attorney Hayden P. O’Byrne said in a⁢ statement.

“we will find you and ⁢prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law. A life sentence ⁣for this conduct is entirely appropriate. Predators such as Correa are a scourge upon humanity and must be dealt‍ with accordingly.”

Correa was apprehended at Miami International Airport last April as ⁢he attempted to board a flight to Bogota. A search of his‍ luggage revealed the ⁢collection of cell phones containing the incriminating⁢ videos.

Prosecutors ‍revealed that one phone contained text messages in which Correa offered a Colombian trafficker $75 ⁤for each sickening sex session arranged with children‍ aged 10 to 12.

Court documents showed ‍that Correa offered to reward one ⁣girl ⁣with an apple iPhone if she ⁣”behaves, and takes⁢ good care of me,” ⁣also stating, “you can keep bringing her and you’ll each get⁤ [$75].”

The examination revealed‍ that Correa made approximately 45 trips to colombia to exploit his victims.

Correa pleaded guilty to attempted ⁣sex trafficking of a minor and ⁢production of child sexual exploitation material in March.

“To the brave survivors, ⁤your courage was the driving force in this case, and I hope that the life sentence of this predator brings you some measure of justice and relief,” said Jose R. Figueroa, Special agent in⁤ Charge of ⁣Homeland Security Investigations in Miami.

“This investigation underscores the global and horrific nature ⁢of child sex trafficking and the importance of‍ international cooperation to end it.”

What’s next

authorities will continue to work with international partners to combat child sex trafficking and bring perpetrators to justice.
