This morning, Kim Bu-young, the governor of Changnyeong County in South Gyeongsang Province, was found dead leaving a note stating that he was innocent.
In Changnyeong-gun, the trial was underway as the election was overheated, including suspicions of candidate buying in last year’s local elections.

At around 9:40am today, Changnyeong Kim Bu-yeong was found dead in a hill in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do.

“By tracking the location of a mobile phone, it was found at a point of 100m on the Bideuljae trail behind Mt. Hwahwang.”
A suicide note was found on Kim’s head, and it is known that he is “innocent in connection with the charges of violating the electoral law” and that there is information about candidates competing during the last 6.1 local elections.
In the process of last year’s election, Governor Kim was accused of bribing voters under the Public Official Elections Act and transferred to trial last November without custody.
Kim, who ran as a candidate for the strength of the people, is accused of buying an administrative agency he knew and making it a candidate for the Democratic Party in order to disperse the support votes of the former mayor of Changnyeong, who ran as an independent. .
Prosecutors believe that after promising to give 100 million won each to three people, including an administrative officer, by recognition, Kim presented 130 million won over three occasions.
The first trial was due to take place two days later, but with Kim’s death, it appears that the decision to dismiss the prosecution will be made.
Changnyeong-gun, which had been transformed into a temporary deputy governor authority system, was bewildered by the sudden news of the death.
Governor Kim said, “There was no special schedule yesterday, which was a holiday, and today was the same as usual, such as paying an annual holiday to attend the Gyeongnam Power People’s State New Year Party.”

Police are confirming the exact time of Kim’s death and his movements over the past day.
