Heavy Autumn Rain Hits Southern Coast as Typhoon Dissipates
Typhoon Pulasan Causes Widespread Damage
Typhoon Pulasan has passed through the southern region in its dying stage, causing damage, including extreme heavy rains, in these regions.

‘Violent Autumn Rain’… 30% of a Year’s Rainfall Fell
Heavy rains, nearly 30% of the annual rainfall, were concentrated in the southern coastal area of Gyeongnam in just two days, with 431.1 mm of rain falling in Gimhae, 403.4 mm in Busan, and 381.2 mm in Geoje.

Heavy autumn rains fell along the southern coast of Jeollanam-do, including 375.2 mm in Suncheon, 357.5 mm in Jangheung, 337.4 mm in Gangjin, and 312.9 mm in Jindo.
Even if it Disappears, it has the Power of a Typhoon
This autumn storm that hit the southern coast was caused by the remnants of Typhoon No. 14 “Pulasan” penetrating the southern coastal region.

Typhoon Pulasan weakened to a tropical depression as it made landfall on the west coast of China, but it was not a typhoon and changed course toward the Korean Peninsula with strong winds and heavy rain.
Getting through the Crisis… Be Careful on the East Coast
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the rain on the southern coast eased significantly after midnight.

However, caution is warranted as there is a possibility of heavy rain in the Yeongdong area of Gangwon-do on the 22nd.
The tropical depression will further weaken in the early morning of the 22nd, transform into a low pressure area, and then make landfall in Japan, but due to the influence of the low pressure, strong easterly winds will blow in the Yeongdong region.
