U.S. insufficient and slow support for Ukraine: Pompeo

Former US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, who is now seen as one of Donald Trump’s rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, during his visit to Kyiv said that the United States has little support for Ukraine. During an interview with the EP, he noted that the Europeans also need to do more, because the ongoing war today is a challenge for them too.

“I believe that we are not doing enough to support Ukraine, and what we are doing is not doing it fast enough. The tragedy is that we could have given Ukraine the kind of support that would have ended all this by now – but we didn’t.– said the politician, noting that there are those in both parties who will not agree with this statement – But I am convinced that helping you is of incredible importance to America.

Now, he continued, the US presidential administration is very slow in its decisions. Moreover, they are too worried about whether certain steps of Vladimir Putin will be provoked.

“This is the reason for the delays. Because of this, and due to the fact that you did not receive long-range weapons, etc., the situation (at the front. – Ed.) Now is the way we see it,” the ex -Head of the US Department of State.
