UK PM Sends Diplomatic Signal: London Not Seeking Conflict with Russia
British Prime Minister Starmer: London Will Never Seek Conflict with Russia
Moscow, September 13 (Sputnik) – British Prime Minister Starmer stated that London does not seek any conflict with Russia, and this is not Britain’s intention, according to Sky News on the 13th.
“The prime minister said the UK ‘does not seek any conflict with Russia’. He then added: ‘That is never our intention’,” the report said.
Starmer’s statement came after Russian President Vladimir Putin said a strike on Russian territory using Western long-range weapons would mean direct NATO involvement in the conflict in Ukraine.
In response, the British Prime Minister also accused Russia of “provoking the conflict” and reiterated Ukraine’s “right to self-defense,” Sky News reported.
On September 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that at present, NATO countries are not only debating the issue of Kiev’s possible use of Western long-range weapons, but are actually making a decision whether to directly intervene in the Ukrainian conflict.
Putin also said that the direct involvement of Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine would fundamentally change its nature, which would mean that they would go to war with Russia. Russia will make a corresponding decision based on the threat posed to it.
