Recent Russian air attacks have inflicted heavy casualties, with at least 24⁤ civilians killed and over 200 injured, according to Ukrainian officials. A ballistic missile strike on Dnipro resulted in 17 deaths and numerous injuries, ‌impacting multiple civilian sites. The ‍nearby⁣ town of Samar also suffered casualties in⁣ a separate attack, according to serhii lysak, head of the Dnipro regional ⁣governance.

The attacks damaged numerous schools, kindergartens,​ a vocational school, a music school, ‍a social welfare office, and⁢ medical facilities, according to Dnipro mayor​ Borys Filatov. Schools in the region are currently closed for summer holidays.

filatov declared⁢ an official day of ⁣mourning after one of the blasts damaged a ⁢passenger train carrying approximately 500 people.

Zelenskyy highlighted Russia’s reliance on ​foreign components for its ballistic missiles and called for stricter measures to prevent‍ Moscow ⁣from acquiring them. He emphasized the ‌need for significantly strengthened sanctions against Russia.

Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson regional military administration, reported that russian forces shelled residential areas and critical infrastructure in the Kherson region, resulting in⁤ four civilian‌ deaths and at least 11 injuries.

The United Nations estimates that over 12,654 civilians have been killed and more than 29,392 injured since the start of the Russian invasion in Febuary 2022. Ukraine has also suffered significant military losses, with estimates ranging from 60,000 to 100,000 personnel.

Russia, not‌ Ukraine, should pay the price for Putin’s ​barbaric and illegal⁣ war, so it is indeed only right ⁣we use the proceeds from ⁢seized Russian assets to ensure Ukraine has the air defense it needs.
