Ukraine War: Fallen Russian Drones in Poland – Zelensky’s Reaction
Ukraine Recaptures Territory in August, Foils Russian Offensive Plans
In August, Ukrainian defense forces reclaimed 58 square kilometers of territory and liberated numerous Ukrainian settlements from Russian forces, as reported on facebook by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
“August 2025 was a month of important challenges for our army, but ultimately we achieved many positive results. We focused our efforts on containing the enemy and inflicting maximum losses on them. We had to stabilize the situation in the most risky areas, such as Lyman, Dobropillia, Pokrovsk, and Novopavlivka, while together employing active defense tactics, regaining lost territories, defending our cities from enemy missiles and drones, and striking deep within Russia,” stated Syrskyi.
He indicated that the enemy holds a threefold advantage in forces and resources along the front lines, with Russian forces outnumbering Ukrainian troops by a factor of four to six in key concentration areas.Syrskyi reported that “in August, the enemy hoped to gain a strategic advantage, break through and encircle our troops in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, and planned large-scale offensive operations in the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions.” However, the Ukrainian military disrupted these plans, forcing the Russians to postpone the offensive in Zaporizhzhia and redeploy forces.
