Ukraine’s Frontline on Brink of Collapse: Expert Warns of Imminent Breakthrough
Finnish analyst Pasi Paroinen of the Black Bird Group reports on the difficult situation of Ukrainian forces on the eastern front. The Russian army has increased its offensive in the area west of Ugledar in recent days, advancing ten kilometers and seizing high ground that makes further attacks on flat ground easier. This created the threat of a local collapse of Ukrainian jobs, and, according to Paroinen, next week will be decisive for maintaining the lead, according to reports There.
The Ukrainian army faces a constant shortage of personnel, which requires the withdrawal of units from other sectors of the front to cover critical points, weakening the defense elsewhere. Paroinen also criticized Ukraine’s method of forming new brigades, believing that inexperienced units were sent to the front without proper training, and that experienced units were worn out without being replaced.
Russia is trying to seize key transport hubs in the southern Donetsk region, particularly the city of Pokrovsk and Kurakhovo, a fortified point on the eastern front. If the offensive continues, it could lead to a mobile phase of fighting where the front line becomes blurred, presenting additional challenges to Ukrainian troops.
There is also a significant movement of Ukrainian forces to capture captured territory in the Kursk region, which is depleting reserves. Incoming reports about the possible involvement of North Korean troops, according to Paroinen, could affect Russia’s strategy.
Earlier it was reported that Russia had transferred all its forces from the Kaliningrad region to the front.
The commander of NATO forces in Europe, General Christopher Cavoli, noted that despite Russia’s heavy losses in the war against Ukraine, Moscow maintains significant combat forces that have suffered almost no damage. In particular, this applies to long-range aviation assets, strategic missile forces, defense units, submarine forces and most tactical aviation. These resources remain dangerous and can be exploited in the future.
Cavoli also emphasized that Russia is already taking serious steps to restore its ground forces, trying to compensate for losses and prepare for a possible continuation of hostilities. According to him, despite the costs of the conflict, Russia has a significant military potential that poses a threat to security in Europe.
